Long winded post. also my first post and just wanted to shout out to the team at Talon Airguns. I bought a .22 taipan slash and Tony and crew setup and shipped it out. I received the rifle and was banging steel and punching paper with in minutes of receiving the rifle. Then I decided to be a air rifle smith and let be honest I made some mistakes and had to call Tony. He assured me no problem and he would get me fixed up. I sent rifle back Tony fixed my mistakes and upgraded a few parts. And all I can say is wow !! I truly have a hammer for air rifle shoots little groups and having more fun than I should. Thanks again Tony and Talon Airguns

It is a little noisier to the shooter, with and without the brake installed compared to my Donny Sumo. I had my wife sit about 30’ away and she claims the brake is a little more quiet to her than the regular end cap (it definitely redirects the gases back), and agrees the Sumo is slightly quieter. The slug impact at 100 yards, on steel, is much louder than the gun though.
If you are in the market for an exceptional air rifle, reach out to Tony, you will be glad you did!

I did the math and it would cost me $100 more just to source the gun and all of the parts to build it myself, let alone the time and ammo assembling and tuning. So I see it as a fantastic deal.
To start off the gun arrived a day earlier than the estimated shipping. Upon opening the case I was blown away with the beauty and quality matching of the Impact. Having a fabrication/welding background, the Impact to me is a work of art! I installed my scope and got to sighting it in. About 5 shots I was zeroed at 50, and then shot some groups all chronographed with a Garmin Aero to get my numbers down.

I wanted to leave some industry feedback after completing a purchase through Talon Tunes.

Overall, the experience was very positive. Communication was good, and when I had questions or concerns, Tony responded quickly and was willing to talk things through directly. It’s a small operation, and that showed more in a personal way than a negative one.

The rifle arrived well packaged and exactly as represented. Tuning, consistency, and overall setup were spot on right out of the case.

This build was purchased as the AAA package, and everything included felt well thought out and cohesive as a complete setup rather than a collection of random add-ons.

One thing that really stood out was the carbon fiber bipod included with the package. It’s a genuinely premium piece of gear — solid, adjustable, and clearly not an afterthought.

I was also impressed with the packaging and case. The rifle shipped in a Condition One hard case, which was part of the AAA package, and it added a nice layer of polish to the overall experience.

There was a bit of waiting involved, but that was communicated up front and felt reasonable for a custom shop.

End result: I’m very happy with the purchase and would be comfortable doing business with Talon Tunes again.
